Andy Allen
Rhythm and Lead guitars, Lead and Backing vocals
DNA+blood stream= Andy Allen. With music running through his veins since age 12, Andy is one of the driving musical forces of THE RIPPERS and is always willing to rock out on a moments notice. A true connoisseur of classic rock, Andy's influences range from the Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and The Who. He's not limited though to rock-n-roll. Other musical tastes include country, gospel and classical. His preference in the group is to give a solid rhythm accompaniment to Jeff's lead work. He does take the lead on several RIPPERS staples such as Johnnie B. Goode and You May Be Right. No matter what the occasion Andy always brings his “A” game and is ready to show everyone a rocking good time. Andy has been a member of two other bands but as he says, “this band is white hot”.
Ben Cleary
Every band needs a good foundation! The Rippers foundation starts with a good bottom line laid down by experienced bassist Ben Cleary. Ben's musical abilities began to surface dating all the way back to his elementary school days when he started picking out songs on his family piano. The next logical progression for Ben was his first electric guitar, an Epiphone. But no matter how much he played, Ben always felt like there had to be something more, something he could really sink his teeth into and make his own. That insatiable desire was finally realized when Ben picked up his first Fender Bass guitar. That first bass began a love affair with music that has lasted for well over thirty years. Over the years Ben has had the opportunity to play with several bands and orchestras going all the way back to his college days in the 70's. In addition to handling some of the vocal work, Ben always lays down a solid bottom line whether the band is hitting a funky dance hit or reflecting back to a 70's classic rock tune. Ben strongly believes when you book The Rippers for your event, you should get more than just a group of musicians… You should get the best entertainers around!
Jeff Brown
Rhythm and Lead Guitars, lead and backing vocals
If Rock-roll’s your thing, Jeff’s your man! Hailing from the vast influences of KISS, Van Halen, Santana and numerous 80’s metal acts, Jeff is the distortion master of THE RIPPERS. Always looking to fire things up, Jeff loves firing off distortion-laced solos or back up Andy while he’s doing his solo thing.
Jeff has been playing music since the ripe old age of 11 and has music running through his DNA. His strong family background set he stage for him to be up in front of crowds playing his guitar.
Occasionally Jeff will take the lead vocal on a certain song…Rock-n-Roll All Nite, anyone?...but he’s just fine letting his fingers do the singing.
Josh Jeffries
Want to be impressed? Just take a listen to our drummer Josh. He’s a natural. Since 2001 he’s been playing drums and he lays down the groove and tempo that keeps The Rippers driving. He’s a workaholic too. He’s currently working on his Music Education degree at Berry College and since 2006 he plays weekly at West Rome Baptist Church’s “XL” Ministry. He doesn’t stop there…He teaches lessons to aspiring young drummers too.
